Registration is always open!!!! The Registration Package is available on the website for download. Please bring your completed forms with you to the Kal Tire North Rink before you step on the Ice. Skate fitting will also occur so if you have skates from last season please bring them. New club members will be assisted with finding appropriate skates for your athlete as well as reviewing other equipment that is needed.

Intro 6 $180 (includes neck guard, Kevlar cuffs and skate rental for 6 Friday sessions) plus SSBC/SSC insurance $30 $210

Provincial/National Athlete $640 plus SSBC/SSC insurance varies $740-$800

Registration Instructions Four easy steps to get you started: Step One
  1. Print and fill in the Medical Waiver.
  2. Print and fill in the Associate Membership Form (parent member).
  Step Two
  1. Print, read, and sign the Parent Information And Volunteer Policy
  2. Print, read, and sign the Vortex Code of Conduct Form.
  Step Three Bring completed Medical Waiver and Associate Member forms to registration night September 15th, 2025 or your first practice. Payment will be completed online with ICEREG.

What is the cost of equipment?
The cost of equipment varies depending on where you purchase the items. A very rough estimate for item costs are as follows:
 
Speed Skates: rent from VSSC $100.00/season
Helmet: ISU Certified $70.00 – $150.00
Shatter-resistant safety glasses $20.00 (inexpensive option – safety glasses from hardware store)
Neck Guard with bib $40.00 (purchase from sports store that sells hockey equipment)
Cut-resistant gloves $30.00 – $50.00
Knee pads $20.00 – $30.00
Shin guards $20.00 – $30.00
Kevlar socks $5.00 (Napa welding cuffs)
